5 Minute Film Review Sound The sound in my film The Job changed as the scene changed from outside an office block to inside it. This was use of diegetic sound that added to the atmosphere of the short film. However when he goes into his new place of work the sound changes to non diegetic sound as a musical tune is played. Cinematography The camera firstly tilts upwards so that you can see the tower block, before heading into the office for a mid shot of the man working behind his desk. The camera then shows the computer screen with the man applying for the job offer that has come up. The camera then returns to the mid shot position of the man talking on the phone to his potential employers. The camera then shows the man leave his office and come round a street corner before moving to an over the shoulder shot of the man walking. The camera then keeps changing perspective from the employee and the employers. The film ends then with the new boss been shown get dressed up by his employees. Mise En Scene Firstly the man working in his office is shown wearing office based suits which match his typical stereotype. He is also shown as working in a typical office with a computer. This again shows stereotype. Secondly the men in the kitchen are dressed as stereotypical mafia members. This shows that the office man is out of his own environment and in someone else domain. However at the end of the five minute film the office man is shown as the future boss of the mafia men. Editing The Boss uses several jump cuts in the five minutes especially when the man is working in the office. The camera is then also shown to switch positions with the men in the corridor. This is used to show each of the men’s perspective on the situation.
